Join Eastside Projects for a round table discussion exploring insights and reflections on the Incidental Artists projects (2022 – ongoing).
Drawing on the legacy of Artist Placement Group (APG), over the last three years Eastside Projects has been inviting artists to work with us as allies, collaborators, agents of wider change and attention magnets in a variety of contexts in Birmingham, over an extended period of time.
In this conversational event the artists will reflect on their experience of collaborating with a range of external organisations and contexts – including a temple, a school and a family services CIC – and how it has felt to be part of a programme that is experimenting with APG’s methodologies including open briefs and feasibility studies.
With contributions from Incidental Artists Alice Theobald, Marley Starskey Butler, n:u (FKA melissandre varin), Sahjan Kooner, Seema Mattu, Verity-Jane Keefe.
This event is convened by PhD candidate and curator, Elisabeth Del Prete. Elisabeth’s research explores contemporary re-workings of APG as part of an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctorate Award with Birmingham City University in partnership with Flat Time House and Eastside Projects.
