Screening & Panel Discussion
For the launch of NOIT-1, FTHo will be hosting the first London screening of the documentary film, On the Eighth Day made for Granada TV in 1969 of John Latham's 1969 performance work at the community art centre, The Blackie (or Black-e) in Liverpool. In an extract of the film, we will see Latham dressed as a barrister using an electric saw to cut in half a book called The Christian Life as part of the day long event, Movie Movie (The Pneuwritten) organised in collaboration with Event Research Group. The film is courtesy Bill Harpe, co-founder of The Blackie.
The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by NOIT-1 guest editor, Antony Hudek and including contributors artist and founder of the Artist Placement Group Barbara Steveni, Director of Tate Britain Penelope Curtis and artist/curator William Cobbing
