Holly Slingsby will be in conversation with writer Beth Bramich to celebrate the publication of Knotted Mass II, published by Publication Studio London in collaboration with The Bower.
Knotted Mass II is an artist’s book developed from Slingsby’s 2016 performance of the same name at a pop-up project, Finishing Touch, London. It includes texts and images from the performance, new drawings, photographic documentation, and a specially commissioned text by Beth Bramich. Books available to buy at the launch include a special edition bookmark with a strand of the artist's hair.
Knotted Mass II is published by Publication Studio London in collaboration with The Bower.
Slingsby works across performance, objects and video. Her recent performances have been at venues including Turner Contemporary, Margate; and Bòlit, Centre d'Art Contemporani, Girona, Spain.
Beth Bramich is a writer. She writes reviews, critical texts and essays, and has contributed to Art Monthly, frieze, Apollo Magazine and this is tomorrow.
Flat Time House is hosting this launch while The Bower building work takes place. The Bower would like to thank The Elephant Trust and Arts Council England – Grants for the Arts for generously funding this project.
Knotted Mass II is published by Publication Studio London in collaboration with The Bower. The Bower is a project run by Louisa Bailey and Joyce Cronin, which developed out of Finishing Touch, and is due to open in 2018.
